These woodturnings have been made right here in our shop in the good 'ol USA. Some of them are made from stabilized wood, which means that an acrylic resin has been forced into the wood under pressure. This gives several advantages such as bringing out the true beauty of the wood by adding contrast to the grain and figure, hardening soft or spalted woods and greatly reducing the effects of humidity changes,

Others may be made from other woods or acrylics. No matter what you choose, you can be sure that it's one of a kind - no other will be exactly like it anywhere. Oak Monet Style Pen with Gun Metal Hardware

Dyed Green Oak Slimline Burl Pen
This pen is made of Oak wood that has been dyed green. The wood takes the dye in different ways which gives it a lot of color and character. There are many swirls in this wood and it has some depth to it as well as a bit of a holographic effect when turned in the light. The gold plated hardware really complements the green in the wood. This is a fine example of what can be woodburned onto a pen. As you can see, I did this pen for Daryl Wellen, my Equine Dentist. The little cartoon horse is his logo and I sized it down to put on the pen. After woodburning it, I put a nice, thick layer of CA finish on it for protection and shine. Since this is woodburned, that means it's done by hand - very carefully! No machines used here on this one!

	Here is another fine example of what can be done if you choose to have something laser engraved on your pen. This was sent to Woodturningz for the engraving and color fill. They did a nice job. This also has a nice CA finish, but the laser engraving requires it to be put on before being engraved, whereas in the woodburned pens, the finish is put on afterwards.

Two-Toned Amboyna Burl Titanium Gold Gatsby Pen

Rosewood Comfort Pen
This is a very nice and comfortable pen to write with! Made of Rosewood, the grain shows up very nicely and the chrome hardware sets it off. It has a smooth twist action and the rubber comfort grip feels good in the hand. Slightly bigger around than the average slimline pen, it is still not too heavy to carry around. These pens are made from some wood from a 100 year old barn that was torn down a number of years ago (shown here with the pens). The barn brings back fond memories for the family and they wanted to preserve that in some way by having pens made from that wood. One of the pens has a knot that goes through it - adds a lot of character!

This is a great way to capture a family momento that can be passed down through generations!
